Sample Cases for Different Schedules & Overtime Rules

Scheduled Window: Daily overtime

  • Daily working hours: Number of hours that should be used to calculate the hourly salary for Fixed contractors, Direct employees and EOR employees. e.g. Monthly salary is 3000 dollars, month has 30 calendar days and Daily working days is set to 8, then the hourly salary is 3000/30/8 = 12.5 dollars per hour.

  • Overtime threshold: Minimum number of hours worked outside the regular window in a day so that overtime is counted.

    • Examples, for regular window set to 9-13h and Daily threshold set to 2:

      • Worker logs from 14-15h >> no overtime is logged, since they did not work outside of the regular time > 2 hours

      • Worker logs from 14-16h >> 1h of overtime is logged, since they worked outside of the regular time for 3 hours and threshold is 2 hours.

      • Worker logs from 9-13h and 14-15h >> no overtime is logged, since they did not work outside of the regular time > 2 hours

      • Worker logs from 9-15h >> no overtime is logged, since they did not work outside of the regular time > 2 hours

      • Worker logs from 9-16h >> 1h of overtime is logged, since they worked outside of the regular time for 3 hours and threshold is 2 hours.

  • Maximum daily overtime: Maximum number of hours worked in a day. If exceeded, no additional overtime should be allowed to be logged in.

  • Multiplier: Value to multiply the number of overtime hours worked.

  • Daily working hours: Number of hours that should be used to calculate the hourly salary for Fixed contractors, Direct employees and EOR employees. e.g. Monthly salary is 3000 dolars, month has 30 calendar days and Daily working days is set to 8, then the hourly salary is 3000/30/8 = 12.5 dolars per hour.

  • Weekly threshold (Rename to Minimum weekly overtime): Minimum number of hours worked outside the regular window in a week so that overtime is counted.

    • Examples, for regular window set to 9-13h and Weekly threshold set to 8:

      • Worker logs from total of 4h overtime in a week >> no overtime is logged, since they did not work outside of the regular time > 8 hours

      • Worker logs from total of 9h overtime in a week >> 1h of overtime is logged, since they worked outside of the regular time for 9 hours and threshold is 8 hours.

  • Maximum weekly overtime: Maximum number of overtime hours worked in a week. If exceeded, no additional overtime should be allowed to be logged in.

  • Multiplier: Value to multiply the number of overtime hours worked.


Total Hours: Daily overtime

      • Worker logs from 9-20h >> 1h of overtime is logged, since they worked outside of the regular time for 3 hours and threshold is 2 hours.

      • Worker logs from 9-13h and 14-15h >> no overtime is logged, since they did not work outside of the regular time > 2 hours
