How to Create HiBob API Credentials?

Learn how to manage HiBob API credentials to connect to RemotePass

HiBob gives you strong control over your people data, which is one of its key strengths. Because of this flexibility, a small one-time configuration is required to ensure the integration is set up correctly.

1. Create API Credentials for HiBob

  • Go to System Settings and select Service Users under Integration tools.

  • Click Create New Service User, enter a display name, and click Create.

  • Copy and save the Service User ID and Token.

Important Reminder: BambooHR won’t show the API Key again. Store it somewhere secure—you’ll paste them when connecting BambooHR.


2. Configure API Permissions for HiBob

  • After creating the service user, click Go to permission groups
    (or navigate via System Settings > Account > Permission Groups).

  • Click Create new permission group and give it a clear name.

  • Select the service user you just created and click Create.

  • Enable the permissions listed in the table below.

  • Click Save.

3. Enable Webhooks

Webhooks allow HiBob to send updates to RemotePass as soon as changes happen, helping keep your data accurate without waiting for scheduled syncs.


Go to System Settings > Integration tools > Webhooks.

  1. Click Add Webhook, enter a name, and paste the provided Endpoint URL.

  2. Under Select Events, choose People and Time Off.

  3. Click Save.

4. Create a Custom Field

1. Go to System Settings > Data Management > People's data fields tab

2. Click Add Field under Work Eligibility and enter "Remotepass Employment Type" as name.

3. Select Type "List" and Click Create List button

3. Add following 3 options, "Contractor", "Direct Employee" and "EOR" and click Save
