What is Contractor of Record (CoR)?
Contractor of Record is a service that enables RemotePass to recruit contractors on a client's behalf. The official contractor agreement is established between RemotePass and the independent contractor.
Onboarding Contractors of Record: A Step-by-Step Guide
Step1. Take Eligibility Assessment
Every new contractor you aim to onboard via Contractor of Record requires a distinct eligibility assessment.
Start by clicking Add New Contract and choose the contract type and the contractor's country of residence.
Toggle on the Contractor of Record option and answer the subsequent questions.
Depending on your responses, the platform will indicate if the contract qualifies. If it does, you can proceed with the next steps.
Step 2. Create the Contract
Fill in the contractor's role and description and click Next.
Enter payment details, including amount and currency, then proceed.
Enter the notice period and create the contract creation.
Select the authorized signature.
Step 3. Sign the SOW (Statement of Work)
Open the contract details page
If the MSA agreement is Pending signing, reach out to your dedicated account manager.
Click on Review and Sign SOW
Click on Sign.
Step 4. Pay the Security Deposit
Post-SOW Signature, you'll be directed to make a payment for a refundable deposit via your preferred mode of transaction.
Alternatively, navigate to the Payments tab, click Pay, and follow the steps to complete the transaction.
Deposits are mandated only for fixed-type contracts
The security deposit is fully refundable upon termination of the contractor agreement.
Step 5. Invite Contractor to Review & Sign
Upon deposit payment confirmation, you will receive an email to invite the contractor:
Click on Invite Contractor.
Fill in their personal email.
Click on Send Invite.
The contractor will receive an email with a link to set up their account on RemotePass and will be guided through the onboarding process.
Step 6. RemotePass Signs
Upon deposit payment, RemotePass will sign the contractor agreement, and the contract will be activated.
And there you have it – your contractor is now onboarded using Contractor of Record.
